Breastfeeding Bond is an 11in x 14in art print. Raising children in general has its challenges, breastfeeding being one of them. However, it is also as natural as breathing. Breastfeeding, when possible, fosters strong bonds between mother & baby, & offers numerous full-body benefits for both of them. After breastfeeding 2 of my own, I have become a strong advocate for mothers that choose to breastfeed as well. I wanted to celebrate the natural beauty of nursing children in a timeless, neutral palette. Creating this piece, brings back memories of holding my babies close, studying their face, singing softly to them, “walking the floor” with them until they would drift off to sleep, & even after realizing they were fast asleep I held them a little longer, cherishing every moment. It also brings back memories that make me laugh, like how “milk drunk” they looked. For all the breastfeeding moms out there, I hope this art encourages you & reminds you that you are doing great.

Story time: as I sat next to my best friend after completing the watercolor foliage, I decided to add some callipgraphy in the empty space in an attempt to jester with him & make him laugh. I slid over the design to him nonchalantly. It worked! He couldn’t help but laugh, (if you’re wondering, it was design 3) and I proceeded to make a couple more variations. I find it both intriguing & endearing that best friends can be so affectionately “mean” to each other.

Calm in the Chaos is available as a 12in x 12in print. This art piece was not a commission like many of my other works at this time. It is a colorful piece I created out of an artistic flow inspired by my connection with my husband. We have been together a total of about 10 years now, since we were 18. Through the years, he has remained my rock, my constant, my home. Life is messy, sometimes stormy, and we have weathered it all together. So in the midst of what feels like utter chaos at times, he has been a place of refuge. I hope everyone finds a partner like him.

Years ago I had the idea to create an intricate owl woven with different elements that I loved. Celtic knots, geometric shapes, Auroras, blending of colors…The result was the original acrylic painting, however it was the most difficult painting I ever did due to some trial & error. It didn’t quite turn out how I wanted. Technology saved the day here. I was easily able to replicate my original design ideas digitally & had so much fun recreating other versions as well. I want to know which one is your favorite!

Glimpse is available as an 11in x 14in art print. Hummingbirds have always fascinated me with their beauty & speed. If you are still, close, & observe them long enough, you start to notice they have personalities & quarks. You start to notice tiny details in their feathers, & how their body moves with each quick heartbeat. They hover in midair perfectly with wings often beating at 50 times a second! The smaller the hummingbird, the faster it beats its wings (highest being 80x a second!).

Jellyfish are truly mesmerizing to watch! At the Oklahoma aquarium, there is a large tank full of these gorgeous orange jellyfish (called Sea Nettles) against a purple, glowing tank. Their long tentacles seem to dance in slow-motion in the tank; jellyfish swirl around each other & I wonder if their tentacles ever tangle! The jellyfish bell (half-moon “head”) is transparent & lined with muscles that can be contracted & relaxed to propel itself through the water. I could stare at them for hours! Purple has always been a particular favorite color of mine that symbolizes quiet strength. This art truly embodies that sentiment. I love the warm light that dances around her and the bright highlights across her features, & hair. This piece reminds me of nighttime swims that always seem magical & healing.

This acrylic painting must be one of my favorite landscape paintings to date. The sun kisses the summits of these mountain peaks… transforming the snow & gray to reflect the brilliant orange light from the sunrise in contrast with the natural teal tones. I absolutely loved painting the roughness of the mountains, blending in the water reflections, and making happy little trees (wink, wink). I hope it gives some Bob Ross vibes, as requested by this client!

Our sorrow for a lost loved one is as deep as our love for the, including our pets. Over the Rainbow Bridge is about a particular cat named Bowser who had crossed over. The impact on his owner was apparent in her grief & learning how to go on without him. Bowser, like many of our fur family members, are blessings in our lives. They teach us to be resilient, playful, & kind.
In Heaven there is no sorrow or pain, only happiness. Bowser was happiest when laying in the sunshine & rolling in the grass. I included a range of bokeh lights to create a dreamy look representative of the rainbow bridge, & replicated his unique fur markings. It was a pleasure to create this piece & I know it meant so much to the owner.

Wonder is an 8in x 10in art print. Spring is a breath of fresh air as nature seems to come alive & flourish. I snapped this photo of my daughter inspecting a leaf one day as we were feeling winter’s hold fade away, making room for the spring that was just starting to begin. She held it carefully so it wouldn’t blow away in the wind, & studied the veins of the leaf… Children are so full of curiosity of the world around them. As adults, we are so busy busy busy that it is difficult to slow down & savor the little things like they do. I hope she retains this joy of imagination & learning forever.
