Live Painting FAQs

A live wedding painting is an artwork created in real-time during your wedding event. The artist sets up at the venue and paints a significant moment (such as part of the ceremony or first dance) throughout the event, providing you with a unique, one-of-a-kind keepsake of your special day.
For my realistic style, I require significant studio time to complete the painting to give it the time & attention to detail it deserves.

Rates are based on the painting size you choose, including 16in x 20in, 18in x 24in, 24in x 30in & more. I take pride in providing highly detailed paintings, full personalization, & a unique interactive guest experience. Please expect an investment of around $2,250 or more for larger sizes. Please inquire about your wedding date & I’ll be happy to send you my price list!

Yes! A nonrefundable 25% deposit is required to book time on my calendar. The remaining balance can be made in payments at any time for any amount. Full payment is due 4 weeks before the event date.

50-100 hours total for the entire work. Painting, scanning, varnishing, hardware install, packaging & shipping/meeting. Of course, this means I don’t complete the painting by the end of the night, but the attention to detail is worth it for a piece that will last centuries.

Typically, you’ll receive the completed piece within 16 weeks after the wedding or sooner if possible.

To book a live wedding painting, couple’s start by filling out athe inquiry form at the bottom of this page. If I’m available, I’ll send you my price list & we’ll discuss your vision, the location, date, etc.. After that, you’ll secure the booking with a deposit, and a signed contract.

I ask that couple’s give me clear direction at least 1 week before the wedding. You may also choose to relinquish control & give me creative reign to paint the moment that seems best, but it is totally up to you!

Changes to the scene or composition aren’t typically possible after the event unless they’re minor. However, I’ll make sure to discuss any specific preferences with you beforehand, so the final painting aligns with your vision.

Yes! Live paintings can be done for any special event, such as engagement parties, anniversaries, galas, or corporate events. I’ll work with you to ensure the painting captures the mood and significance of the occasion.

You choose! Common sizes range from 16″x20″ to 30″x40″, but I offer flexibility based on your vision.

Absolutely! Live wedding paintings can be created at both indoor and outdoor venues. For outdoor weddings, I may have additional requirements & must have an indoor plan B option in case of inclement weather and such.

You’re free to display your acrylic canvas painting with or without a frame. Acrylic paintings are painted on gallery wrapped canvases, which means the painting continues onto the sides (1.5in thick). Arcylic paintings are varnished to add additional protection. A watercolor painting is on paper & does require a frame for protection. Your painting will also come with care instructions.

No worries! I bring portable lighting equipment to ensure I can paint in any setting, whether the event is indoors or outdoors.

Yes! If there are specific details or elements you’d like included (such as florals, what you love about your venue, or meaningful objects, people, or pets), we can discuss these in advance to make sure the painting reflects your unique wedding day.

Guests are welcome to strike up a conversation, watch over my shoulder, & even paint! For the event, I really focus on engaging with guests & giving them the opportunity (& encouragement!) to be involved with the actual process. This is always a hit!

Yes! I have a 5 & 11 year old myself & enjoy being able to inspire little artists! I just ask that parents/guardians are supervise closely.

Yes! I am an Oklahoma live wedding painter (based in Broken Arrow near Tulsa) & serve all of OK & am always open to traveling.

Live Guest Portraits

Unique

Live painting is a rare form and instantly elevates any event. It’s a sure-fire way to spark a sense of self-love to guests and communicate gratitude.

For Everyone

My rates are based on guest count. I paint as many as I can at the event and finish any remaining portraits in my studio. This insures everyone receives a portrait, even with limited time.

Seamless

I utilize a text-in keyword with guests to streamline the process. Guests submit the photo they feel most confident in for me to paint from!

Live guest portraits are hand-painted portraits of your guests created during your event! If we run out of time to paint all of the guests, I complete paintings in my studio using photos & ship them all to you.

I take pride in providing stylized personalized paintings guests will love, & a unique interactive guest experience. Rates are based on guest count starting at $2000. Please inquire about your event date & I’ll be happy to send you my price list!

I will have a table setup with supplies & guest portrait signage. Guests will follow instructions to text in a custom keyword (such the couples last name or name of the event!). From there, they’ll be prompted to send a reference photo of 1-2 people, & info I need to get started on their painting! I’m available to help guests who are not as tech savvy with this process.
Guests are welcome to watch me work, chat, or go mingle/party! They are asked to swing by the table before they leave to see if their portrait is ready. I paint as many portraits as I can live, & finish any remaining portraits in my studio, so everyone gets one!

My standard guest portraits are true-to-form, minimalistic (no facial features) & painterly.

I personally use a combo of watercolor paints, water based markers, & sometimes ink, on high quality 5in x 7in watercolor paper.

I paint approximately 10 guests per hour (or 5 couples).

Yes! Once a portrait is completed, guests can usually take home their custom portrait! The watercolor paint takes only minutes to dry & is then packaged for the road with a sturdy backing board in a plastic sleeve. This makes for a memorable keepsake and a fun experience during the event.

Live guest portraits are perfect for weddings, corporate events, gala dinners, birthday parties, and other special occasions.

Yes! I call these the VIP guests. You can designate anyone as a VIP such as parents, bridal party members, or out of state guests (to reduce the cost of shipping) to receive their portrait by the end of the night. They will be on my priority list!

I need access to wifi, & space for an 8ft table away from speakers. I am happy to provide my own table, chair, & black linens or you’re welcome to supply your own.
